Keystone Korner opened in 1972. It was located in San Francisco at the corner of Vallejo & Emory, in North Beach. They had jazz every night. My father played there many times, in many configurations. The box I’m currently working on contains several Charlie Keystone performances. In addition to three nights of the December 1978 Old & New Dreams residency, there are three 1979 cassettes of Liberation Music Orchestra’s second-ever performance (two sets), and a 1978 Charlie duet with pianist Mal Waldron, with group jam including Charlie, Mal, Archie Shepp, Clifford Jarvis, Siegfried Kessler, and Ronnie Boykins.
