Lisa and I visited the Alice Coltrane exhibit at the Hammer Museum. A John Coltrane song randomly played in the car as we arrived.
The show was a mix of ephemera and history, video installations, and artworks inspired by Alice. The meaning was left to the viewer.
The next day a clerk at Trader Joe’s asked how my weekend was. I told her I went to the exhibit at the Hammer Museum. She thought it was a museum devoted to hammers. I wonder if such a place exists.
